sammiSammi Nguyen holds her master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Thomas Jefferson University. She completed her clinical internship at the renowned Council for Relationships in Philadelphia, with additional internships at Nationalities Service Center and HELP USA. She has also completed Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1 training. Sammi earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated summa cum laude.

As a therapist, Sammi is profoundly non-judgmental, deeply curious, and open-minded. She doesn’t hesitate to bring humor and creativity into the therapy room, and believes in meeting every client where they are. Sammi finds joy in connecting with clients of every background and personality, with every set of strengths and struggles.

Strongly informed by Emotionally-Focused Therapy and Bowen Family Systems Theory, Sammi’s approach involves providing clients with practical tools and coping skills to apply to their everyday lives, while also finding compassionate routes into deep, underlying issues when the client feels safe enough for that exploration.

Sammi has a particular interest in eating disorders and trauma, but is experienced with a range of issues from depression and anxiety to self-esteem building, parenting to gender questioning, navigating work stress to rebuilding connection within a couple. Sammi works with individuals, couples, and families of all ages and stripes.

Sammi is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals.
