Kaitlyn Vanderlaan, LSW, is a Licensed Social Worker in the State of Pennsylvania. Kaitlyn earned her Masters in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from Ursinus College. Kaitlyn is a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and also a 200-Hour Yoga Alliance Certified Yoga Teacher. Additionally, Kaitlyn is part of Bucks LGBTQ Center and Bucks Support Services.
Kaitlyn is passionate about eating disorder awareness and treatment and strives to build a relationship with clients that helps facilitate growth and change. She aims to provide a warm and relaxed atmosphere that empowers individuals to explore underlying problems, identify strengths, and develop effective coping strategies. Kaitlyn works from an Intuitive Eating and weight inclusive perspective, and aims to foster body respect. Kaitlyn provides individual, family, and group therapy as well is in-office and in-home meal support. She also works with many co-occurring issues, including depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and self-harm. Kaitlyn uses a variety of therapeutic techniques, drawing on concepts from Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Therapy.
Kaitlyn has experience working in a variety of settings, including a Master’s level internship at Friends Hospital as well as Edward T. Steel Elementary School, providing individual and group counseling to adolescents experiencing mental health, substance use, or behavioral concerns. Kaitlyn also worked at Family Service Association of Bucks County as a Therapist, working with children, adolescents, and adults. Additionally, Kaitlyn has worked at Adult Mobile Crisis of Montgomery County through Access Services, providing brief counseling and crisis intervention to adults in the community. Most recently, Kaitlyn has worked at Crisis Text Line, as a Crisis Counselor Supervisor, supporting and providing feedback to volunteers on the hotline.
