Kaitlyn Vanderlaan, LSW, is a Licensed Social Worker in the State of Pennsylvania. Kaitlyn earned her Masters in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from Ursinus College.
Kaitlyn completed a Master’s level internship at Friends Hospital as well as Edward T. Steel Elementary School, providing individual and group counseling to adolescents experiencing mental health, substance use, or behavioral concerns. Kaitlyn also worked at Family Service Association of Bucks County as a Therapist, working with children, adolescents, and adults. Additionally, she has also worked at Crisis Text Line as a Crisis Counselor Trainer, educating volunteers on crisis intervention and suicide prevention. Kaitlyn is also part of Adult Mobile Crisis of Montgomery County through Access Services, providing brief counseling and crisis intervention to adults in the community.
Kaitlyn works with individuals experiencing many different issues such as eating disorders, depression, suicidal ideation, and self-harm. Kaitlyn is passionate about eating disorder awareness and treatment and strives to build a relationship with clients that helps facilitate growth and change. She uses a variety of techniques, drawing from concepts from Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Kaitlyn strives to provide a warm and relaxed atmosphere that allows individuals to explore underlying problems, identify strengths, and develop effective coping strategies.
